Mangaluru : Jayaraj Amin, the chancellor of Mangalore University, said that the role of media is important for the survival of the democratic and for the democratic system to be strong.

He delivered the validatory speech at the closing ceremony of the 4th District Conference of Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association held at Kudmul Rangarao Town Hall at Mangaluru.

Karnataka State Working Journalists’ Association President Sivananda Tagadoor presided over the conference.

Khader Shah, Senior Assistant Director of information Department, Adani Group Chairman Kishore Kumar Alva, Indian Dental Association Vice President Dr.Sivasharan Shetty, Maharashtra Kannadiga Journalists Association Rones Bantwala were present as guests.
