Udupi : In a party workers meeting district-in-charge minister Lakshmi R Hebbalkar expelled working journalists from the Congress party activists’ meeting in Kundapur.

As Congress activists engaged with party leaders, journalists were forcibly removed to prevent them from documenting the incidents through photographs.

Protests erupted among Kundapur taluk journalists in response to the action taken by district Congress president Kishan Hegde.

Despite the journalists’ objections, party leaders remained indifferent to the expulsion. District in-charge minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar and MLC Manjunath Bhandary also remained silent on the matter.

The journalists have collectively decided to abstain from participating in future Congress programmes.
