Udupi: In an official programme held at Muloor on Sunday by JD(S) over hundred Congress party workers joined JD(S) who are said to be the followers of former Congress MP Jayaprakash Hedge.
Former Prime Minister and JD(S) Chief H D Deve Gowda welcomed the new entrants to the party.
These people had left Congress party when Jayaprakash Hegde was expelled from the party. J P Hegde was showing his interest towards joining BJP and the reports were also confirming the same.
It is also reported that JP’s followers joined JD(S) as they were unhappy with the decision of JP to join BJP. They didn’t want to join BJP and they couldn’t go to Congress so they had only one option left and that was JD(S).
Meanwhile JP Hegde has denied to accept that the people who joined JD(S) are his followers, those are the people who have switched from Congress to JD(S) and he has nothing to do with them.
