Mangalore : Former Union Minister B Janardhana Poojary said that K. Jayaprakash Hegde of the Congress party won the Udupi – Chikmagalur Lok Sabha by-polls by a margin of 45,724 votes against Sunil Kumar of BJP and congratulated him for the victory.

He was speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on March 21, Wednesday said that the defeat by BJP is the defeat of corruption, harassment and non discipline. The voters have elected the right person and showed that they are the owners of their decision. He also congratulated for Sonia Gandhi for this victory.

He also said that BJP party had even tried for gain votes from the people through casteism. But the voters and the Billava Community did not get cheated, by the cheap method caste publicity made by the BJP. The BJP’s plan did not work this time and people did not allow them to rule.

Recalling the last election he said that, the BJP had won the election by various tricks and later the voters and community people have answered for it. Now it’s time to welcome the victory and congratulate all the members who have worked with unity. Former Union Minister Oscar Fernandes too had taken the lead role in this victory, he added.

Commenting on the state Budget, he said that this is an in civic budget, because it does not have any innovation at all. He congratulated CM DVS for presenting the budget and get ready for next election and dissolve the government.

If the former CM Yeddyurappa is not give the post back, then the problem in the state will not stop, but will continue further. Hence it is better that DVS will contest in election again and gain the post rather than enjoying the freely received post and Congress is ready for it.
