Mangaluru: Pilikula Nisarga Dhama (Pilikula), a major eco-education and tourism development project promoted by the District Administration of Dakshina Kannada is all set for another face lift.

Former Executive Director and MLA J.R Lobo on Saturday spent more than half a day in Pilikula along with the Executive Director and other officers reviewing various developmental projects being undertaken in the park.

He reviewed the construction of entrance gate, planetarium and artisan village including other beautification, maintenance and construction of more facilities.

MLA, who is associated with the Pilikula for over 18 years since its inception, instructed the officers for the early completion of work and suggested new plans.

Later, Mr. Lobo said that the huge Entrance includes administrative building, tourism arragement centre, arrival plaza, ticketing, parking, sovereing shop, and canteen. While, the planetarium aims to attract scheintific temper.

Besides, the lane outside the biological park towards artisan village will have a broad roads, with footpath and a lot of greenery.

Another gate is being constructed at the Artisan village – which aims to create a complete ‘village’ atmosphere. The Artisan village will accommodate various schemes of the state and central government particularly Janapada Loka.

He emphasised to include western ghat as the theme of the park.
