Mangaluru: The Hon`ble former justice of Supreme court and present Hon`ble President of National Consumer disputes redressal Commission, New delhi Justice D K Jain visited the Akshaya Patra Mangalore kitchen on On 26th Friday.
Justice D K Jain was accompanied by the President of Akshaya Patra Mangalore and ISKCON Mangalore, His Grace Karunya Sagar Dasa. Mrs Asha Shetty the President of Dakshina Kannada Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and the Operations Manager Akshaya Patra Mangalore Nandanacharya Das was also present on this occasion.
Justice D.K. Jain took a tour around the beautiful Akshaya Patra kitchen located in Sulthan Battery road, Urwa Mangalore. His Grace Karunya Sagar Dasa explained the entire operations, right from beginning, from creating indent for the day to purchasing inventory, cooking loading and finally to the stage of delivering food to the schools.
Justice D.K.Jain was surprised at the efficiency at which the entire kitchen operates. He was also surprised to see the dedication which the employees put in to run the entire process smoothly. Most importantly, he praised the hygiene standards and operations process which Akshaya Patra Mangalore follows. He said in his “I am delighted to visit ISKCON temple and the kitchen run on a large scale to feed school children, I wish and pray that this kind of charity is undertaken by other NGOs/Foundation which will go a long way in bringing peace and harmony in the families which are forgetting our Indian tradition and ethics. All the best to those are engaged in the activities of this foundation”.
Mrs. Asha Shetty on the other hand was left with no words to define the dedication the entire organization puts in. She told that this is one of the very few NGOs which she can count on for the betterment of the society and subsequently the country itself.
On this occasion the President of Akshaya Patra Mangalore expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Justice D.K Jain for visiting the kitchen and also shared his ideas and what vision he has in mind to uplift the Dakshina Kannada schools on the whole. He said “If the basic needs of the children in terms of food,education and shelter is not met then how can we expect that the children can grow up and succeed in their life and contribute back to the nation. Hence this Akshaya Patra meal plays an important role in the childs overall development. He also acknowledged the help of the Centre and State governments support to Akshaya Patra for the mid day meal program at length.”
