Mangalore: Former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde interacted with students of Lourdes Central School at the Bejai Church Hall in Mangalore on January 17, Thursday , as part of his efforts to create an awareness among youngsters on the need to eradicate corruption from the society.
Speaking on the occasion, Justice Hegde urged students to develop the habit of speaking up whenever there is injustice or corruption, instead of remaining silent. Students can bring about the much needed change, he said and called upon people not to give or accept bribe.
On this occasion, Justice Hegde said he has so far met students of over 500 schools in the past six years. He also pointed out to the failure of the state government to appoint Lokayukta and said politicians did not want a Lokayukta that elections are nearing.
