Mangalore: It is not between two communities but individuals. Some communal minded people had given a communal colour to the recent Ullal incident, said K.J.George, home minister, on Wednesday, February 12,
Addressing to the press men here in circuit house he said, DK police did good effort to bring control Ullal incident, we don’t issue orders to the Police. Our duty is to help Police when they need our help, he said.
We instructed the police to take necessary actions if any such incident occurs in future, public and police department both of them should co-operate to avoid such incident. Who are innocents among those arrested in Ullal clashes will be given bail , he said.
Later K.J.George inaugurated the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mangalore South Sub Division.
After inauguration he said, Several unpleasant incidents have occurred in past few months, I assure that the it will not repeat again. The Police have been directed to take preventive measures in order to curb such incidents, he added.
Further he said, If Naxals want to come to the mainstream we welcome their decision. If they want to continue fighting then our Anti Naxal Force will take the necessary steps to stop them from doing so.
Replying to the underworld threats and, ransom calls to the businessmen he said, we are conducting investigations about the same. Interpol has also been informed about the presence of few of them in foreign countries,” he added.
J.R.Lobo, MLA, Mangalore South, Abhaychandra Jain, fisheries, sports and youth affairs, Shashidhar Hegde, former mayor were present among others.
The Minister also addressed the Congress workers in the District Congress office and also held discussions with the Police officials in the IGP office.
