Udupi: Udupi’s very popular Superintendent of Police Annamalai who is also known as Singam, has been transferred to Chikkamagaluru with immediate effect.

2006 batch IPS officer K T Balakrishna will take charge as new SP of Udupi.

Presently, Balakrishna is serving as SP in Gadag district. Healso served as SP of Uttara Kannada district, principal of Police Training School, Channapatna, deputy commandant general of Home Guards and ex-officio deputy director of civil deence, Bengaluru.

Annamalai took charge as Udupi SP in January 2015. He is well known for his efficient work. He is a people friendly officer. Once, his transfer was put off due to panchayat and MLC elections.
