Mangalore: A black Scorpio van used by assailants of Mohd. Kabir , a rowdy, to kill hi at Charavu near Gurpur on Feb25, was found today. It was deserted at Malemar by the killers on Friday and found in early hours today, by searching police squads, on city outskirts.
Kavoor police have seized the carrier. A sharp sickle was found inside the vehicle. Kabir was attacked on the face and head, the way he did to Sukhananda  Shettyearlier. The murder is depicted as an act of revenge, by DCP R,Ramesh. CPC Seemant Kumar Singh has the confidence that the assailants would be caught soon.
To prevent retaliatory attacks which have a history in DK, the Commissionerate (city) and District Police are kept on alert. Such murders have communal overtones also, the police sources said.
Singh informed that police vigil is heightened in Gurpur, Kaikamba, Vamanjur and such other sensitive areas on city suburbs, to contain any backlash attacks.
