Kadaba: An elephant was electrocuted at Puthila near Kenjala of Bilinele village forest area in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The forest area is situated on Subramanya-Gundya Road and Bilinele and Komabaru Village. The locals noticed this incident Tuesday early morning and informed the forest department.

The elephant came in contact with the wire and electrocuted. It is suspected that the elephant must have come in search of food.

Subrahmanyam forest department officials visited the spot. The exact reason for the death will be confirmed afterwards the post-mortem report said, the officials.
