Mangalore : After the raid on Moon Shine, a beauty parlor and spa ten days back, the owner of the spa claimed that the Kadri police had conducted the raid only because they had refused to pay the ransom.
Moon Shine owner Sathish Rai in a press meet, said that Police Constable Shekhar had arrived at the parlor to investigate of being run illegally, later the owner had proved to the constable that the allegations were baseless and it was functioning according to the law.
Even after it, PC Shekhar began making repeated calls to the parlor and demanded Rs. 50,000 as hafta a month back and warned to conduct a raid if they failed to pay the hafta. Likewise he refused to pay the hafta and had informed the PC that he could conduct a raid since it was running legally.
He also said that on Feb 13 Monday, Inspector Kiran Kumar came to the parlor and condoms in one of the drawers and when few constables entered the parlor, found condoms from the parlor, and claim to run illegal things inside the parlor.
Mr. Rai said that police had confirmed that the parlour installed no CCTVs before conducting their raid. He said that he had lied to the police about the no CCTVs present so that he can capture all images of the raid.
