Mangalore: The Kadri Sri Manjunatha Swami Temple has bagged the Excellency Award for being the best religious institution which has maintained cleanliness in the temple and surrounding areas. The award was presented at the ICON SWM-2012 International conference held at Infosys Campus in Mysore.

Informing this, AJ Shetty, President of Kadri Temple Management said it was a matter of pride that the Kadri Temple has been selected for this prestigious award along with the Sri Tirumala Tirupathi Temple.

He attributed the award to the hard works put in by the temple committee staff and the devotees. He also informed that special pooja including Kalashabhisheka,  Parjanya Japa were held in the temple on Thursday morning to appease Rain God.

Dr P Ananthakrishna Bhat, Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, HK Purushottam, Devadas Kumar,  Corporator Roopa D Bangera and others of the temple management, were present.
