Shimoga: There has even arisen a demand even in the Congress to initiate action against MLAs who resorted to cross voting resulting in the defeat of the official Congress candidate in the MLC election. Kagod Timmappa, senior Congress leader and former minister has demanded the expulsion of cross voters who violated the party’s whip.

Even Opposition leader Siddaramaiah has said that it was clear that there was horse trading during MLC elections and defeat of Official candidate had harmed the image of the party.

The five member committee constituted by the Congress to investigate into the cross voting is expected to present its report on June 30. The committee led by VR Sudarshan, MLC held its first meeting at the KPCC office on Friday.
