Mangalore: A Kala Jatha organisd by Shikshana Kendra Okkoota and Padi all over the district to sensitize the society on child rights and right to education, was inaugurated by ZP Vice President Ritesh Shetty at the ZP Higher Primary School at Gandhinagar on November 21, Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the government has implemented several programmes to ensure protection of child rights and hoped the jatha would succeed in achieving its objective. He called upon voluntary organizations to join hands to see to it that even under privileged children are not deprived of education.
Gracy Gonsalves, Netravathi, Headmistress of the school, Kamala Gowda, President of Shikshana Sampanmoola Kendra, Peethambar and others were present.
The jatha would travel throughout the district till November 26.
