Mangaluru : Kerala ATS personnel have arrested Yusuf Ziya alias  Ziya who is the prime accused in rowdy sheeter Kalia Rafique murder case. The arrest was made in Mumbai on Thursday night. The city police are likely to seek his custody for interrogation.

Informing this to reporters here, City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar said an appeal would be filed before the Kerala court  soon to hand over Ziya to the custody of Mangaluru police for  more interrogation in connection with the Kalia Rafique case.

It may be recalled here that Kalia was  murdered near the Kotekar petrol bunk on February 14, 2017 while he was returning to Mangaluru from Kasargod. Police had arrested Muhammad Najeeb alias Kallatra Najeeb, Noor Ali, Rashid T S, Husainabba alias Husain and Mutasim alias Taslim in connection with the case. However the prime accused Ziya had  reportedly fled the nation.
