Bantwal : As many as 6 police cases have been registered at Bantwal urban police station till June 14 afternoon from May 26 when two youths stabbed by members of another community. Many people have been taken into the custody by the police in connection to the six cases registered, sources said.
Kalladka town remained almost closed on Wednesday as most of the shops, commercial establishments and other stalled their routine activities for the day after clashes between two communities created tensions on Tuesday evening.
Large number police personnel have been patrolling in Kalladka to ensure the safety and to prevent any unpleasant incident. Section 144 imposed in Bantwal taluk following communal clashes and incidents of stone pelting on June 13. According to the section 144 imposed, the police have asked the public not to gather more than 5 persons at a time in a public place in any part of the Bantwal taluk whereas in Kalladka people have been asked not stay or move more than single person in the public.
According to the police sources, the situation in Kalladka is under control however vehicular traffic on Vitla-Kalladka Road has been effected by the violence. Meanwhile, vehicles were seen plying on BC Road and Mani national highway as usual. Situation in Kalladka turned violent on Tuesday after the incidents of communal clashes and stone pelting created tensions in the area even if section 144 imposed in the area after May 26.
