New Delhi: While Commonwealth Games for India was a great success for Indian sports persons, interest in winning gold medals internationally, the preparatory work reeked with greedy money scandals among executives, even MPs in Congress who headed them.
The entire scam happenings are now entrusted to CBI enquiry and on Tuesday (Nov.29) raids were conducted by CBI sleuths on houses and offices of corrupt govt, officials who brought ill – fame and contamination in prestige of India’s capacity to organize Games events of any kind.
Secretary General Lalit Bhanot and Director General V.K Verma’s premises were searched by CBI, they being close to Suresh Kalmadi of IOA, in 11 places where they could have hidden wealth. Three other aides or companions of Kalmadi are behind bars already. The CWG Queen’s baton in London relay was a waste of huge money of 450,000 pounds incurred by Indian Govt. Kalmadi, MP has denied any bad role in the scandals.
