Mangalore : Degree students of Kanachur Academy of General Education staged protest against the college management for being deprived of basic facilities due to under construction of medical college in the campus on August 27, Wednesday.

The students claimed that due to the ongoing construction work of the medical college, they have been put to inconvenience.

Students said that, they had submitted an appeal to the college management urging for facilities and the management had even assured to do so in a month, but the situation is still the same even after a month.

The protestors said that, the college does not have separate toilets for boys and girls and even they lack proper road to the college. The college had even collected the library fee from each student but has no library for the degree students.

In reply, the management urged the students to cooperate since medical college is under construction, and assured to fulfill their demands as soon as possible.

The students also alleged that Institution chairman U Kanachar Monu had threatened to give them transfer certificates. The students warned the management to intensify their protest in the coming days with the help of all college students unions.
