Bangalore: A co-producer of films has ended his life by shooting at himself at Lakshmipura in Ramanagar district on the night of May 26, Saturday. The deceased is Srinivas (42), who is also a real estate businessman.
He had worked as co-producer for Kannada films “ Santosha” and “Veerappan Attahasa. It has been learnt that Srinivas who had left home with his revolver saying he was going to Mysore, had instead visited his sister Manjula’s residence at Nagarabavi. Later, he had called his friends Jagadish and Babu and had asked them to come to his farm at Lakshmipura.
However, by the time Jagadish could arrive there Srinivas’s mobile was switched off and the two searched for Srinivas as his car was found on the roadside. “However, he was found dead with the revolver beside him,” Jagadish is learnt to have told the police during interrogation.
At the outset, the police consider this as a case of suicide while the exact cause of his death would be revealed after investigation, informed Ramanagar SP Anupam Agarwal.
Srinivas had married Rekha twelve years ago and the couple has two daughters, Sanjana (9) and Shalini (5). According to Rekha “Srinivas was depressed since two years and never spoke out his mind and also used to take revolver whenever he went out of station.”
Investigations are in progress.
