Mangalore: Who does not know Dharmadarshi of Mulki Sri Harikrishna Punaroor, a deep devotee of Udupi Sri Krishna and Ashtamathseers, a hotelier and petrol bunk owner, a former Kannada Sahitya multi conferences organiser and KS Parishat Chairman for a full term, a liberal donor, and a winner of Pingara award recently? Punaroor was awarded “Kannada Shree” title by freedom fighter H.S. Doreswamy in Bangalore on Monday organised by Kannada Sena Rajya Sanghatana as a part of Kannada Rajyotsava (a month long programme) here, at Mysore Maharaja’s Centenary Hall in city.
Speaking on the fabulour occasion, the Senior Gandhian H.S. Doreswamy stated that he had seen Pundaroor’s work from close quarters, and like him.
He worked for Kannadiga Unity, cultural survival and literary renaissance all over Karnataka. His services are still needed by people, to many cultural and Kannada institutions, and to artistes of the coastal region. Let the state Government recognize his many sided activities, said Doreswamy wishing him well.
