Bangalore: Simhadri is the Telugu film copied frame by frame, dialogue by dialogue, in look by look in Kannada by director Tushar Ranganath as a re-make. A dubbing would have helped, if this is what Kannada re-make is supposed to be. Only the actors and actresses, the language and music must have changed.
Others like script and narration are photo prints of the Telugu original in Kannada. For a top line producer Ramu and an established director, it is a big let-down.
Vijay replaces Junior NTR. Heroines Subha and Rishika Singh have same costumes and characters. Villains have same threatening looks or hairdos. Do we need such re-makes to cheat Kannada Film buffs? Even S.S.Rajamouli enters into Kannada, the way Junior NTR imitates original NTR in Telugu. Ramu (producer) is clearly mistaken in this film.
Only comedy sequences evoke laughter, but the actors also (heroines) do not impress. The story is not worth-telling either. Chakri’s music and Dasari S. Rao’s camera work are average or less.
Kanteerava is a sickening experience as a repetition of Telugu film.
