Mangalore : In order to increase the interest in films among the people of Coastal Region Karavali Bellimandala Film Society, Mangalore will screen short films and local languages film on third Saturday of every month at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan at 5.30 pm, said Film Society president Vijayakumar Kodialbail.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on May 15, Tuesday, he said that the Karavali Bellimandala Film Society will screen Tulu film ‘Gaggara’, directed by Shivadwaj on May 19, Saturday. The film has bagged the National Award in the year 2008-09 and M K Mutt has bagged the State Award for the best supporting actor. Hence the film must be watched by many he said. The entry fee will be free of cost.
The society will screen the films like Beary, Gubbachi, Gulabi Talkies and other film 3rd Saturday of every month he stated.
P Nithyananda Rao, joint secretary of Film Society said that the film society has been formed three years back to evoke interest in films. The society will collect the Rs 200 as the membership fee.
Prof H Jayanth, Jagadish S and Anil Navoor were present at the press meet.
