Mangaluru: Karavali Traditional Fishermen’s Sangha on Thursday staged a protest demanding all season fishing harbour in Kulai.

Speaking to the protesters Convener Ramachandar Baikampady said that the state and central government should construct all season fishing port in Kulai soon. The central government has already sanctioned Rs 230 crore for the construction of Kulai fishing port, but state government haven’t sanctioned any fund.

“Even after getting NOC from all necessary departments, the state government is not passing the recommendation letter to the central government, Baikampady said.

He urged the MLA’s of DK to discuss the same matter in assembly and to give justice to the fishermen.

MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BJP district President Sanjeeva Matandoor, Tulunadu Rakshan Vediake President Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Yashpal Suvarna, Karavali Traditional Fishermen’s Sangha President Vasudev B K, Vaman Ameen, Rajeev Kanchan and others were present.
