Karkala : At least 25 passengers sustained injuries when a speeding private bus plunged about 20-ft down at Kolagudda Byana near Hebri here on Monday, March 10.

Sources said, the bus was moving from Shivamogga to Mangaluru. The driver lost control as it was raining heavily and the road was filled with sand.

Udupi MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who was passing by the same route helped the injured people. The injured persons were rushed to local private hospitals.

Hebri police have registered a case.
