Hyderabad: Mamatha Poojari, the golden girl from Karkala in Udupi district, who successfully led the Indian Women’s Kabaddi Team to victory in Kabaddi World Cup and also in the recently held Asian Beach Games Event, has been duly honoured by the Andhra Pradesh government.

The government has rewarded her with a cash prize of Rs 25 lakhs. This comes to Mamatha as a gift from the Andhra Government as she is currently an employee of Indian Railways, in Secunderabad of Andhra Pradesh.

The Asian Beach Games were held in Japan and in the finals the Indian girls had defeated Thailand.
