Moodbidri : Akhila Bharatha Karmika Sangha, Founder President Sudatta Jain said that the organization will stage a protest in front of the Nellikaru Gram Panchayat office on September 1 from 10 am to 11 am, demanding compensation to the family of Vasanthi Poojarti of Nellikar, who lost her son in a watery grave while performing the Pinda Pradana of his father at the Uppinangady river.
Addressing to the press meet, Jain said that in spite of making appeal to the DC, Tahsildars of Puttur and Moodbidri and local village accountant about providing the compensation, they have failed to provide it.
He also criticized local MLA and state minister Abhayachandra Jain, for not visiting the bereaved family till date. The authorities who have provided compensation to Ullal drawn family and Cattle trader Kabeer’s family, is being biased to Vasanthi Poojarti family, who was a BJP worker. Hence government must provide compensation to the family on humanitarian grounds.
Vasanthi Poojarti, Dinesh JP and Mahendra Mayilodi were present.
