Mangaluru: A Mangaluru headquartered prime bank in banking sector, Karnataka Bank bagged IDRBT award on July 18 at Hyderabad. A special award “Certificate of Special Mention for use of Technology for Financial Inclusion among small banks 2015-16” was bagged by Karnataka Bank.
The award was received by the Mangaing Director of the Bank P Jayaram Bhat and General Manager Raghavendra Bhat, from Honurable Governor of Reserve Bank of India.
“It was a great honour for the bank to receive this prestigious award. We will continue to give more quality assurance to our customers. We will upgrade the technology platform on an ongoing basis to roll out innovative products. This award has motivated us in implementing our IT strategies more effectively,” said P Jayarama Bhat, MD & CEO of the Bank.
The bank has got 733 branches, 1300 ATM’s and 27 e-lobbies all over the country. The bank has aimed to expand its reach by starting 765 branches and 1500 ATM’s across India by March 2017.
R Gandhi, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India and Chairman, IDRBT and Dr A S Ramasastri, Director, IDRBT and others were present at the award function.
