Mangalore :  Karnataka Bank  one  of the premier private sector banks of the nation has  won  the IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards among small banks for the year 2012-13.

The awards were won under  two categories namely Best Bank Award for Managing IT Risks and Best Bank Award for use of IT for business innovation.

 P Jayaram Bhat,  Managing Director and CEO of the Bank received the Award from Dr D Subbarao, RBI Governor at a ceremony held at Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology [IDRBT], Hyderabad. P. Jairama Hande, General Manager [IT &MIS, TAD] and CFO of the Bank was also present.

Karnataka Bank which is in its 90th year of operation had bagged “Special Award for Managing IT risk”, instituted by IDRBT  in 2011 and ISO 27001:2005 Certificate of Registration from NQA [National Quality Assurance] for it’s IT set up in 2012.
