Bangalore : Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda held the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre responsible for bomb blast at the Delhi High Court today in which 11 people were killed and 61 injured.
Terming the incident as “total failure on the part of the Centre”, Mr Gowda told reporters here that central agencies had failed to prevent terror acts despite such incidents taking place at frequent intervals threatening security of the country.
He alleged that the UPA government, instead of concentrating on curbing terrorist activities to ensure security to the people, was indulging in other activities, including taking political vengeance.
“Delay in executing death penalty to Afzal Guru (Parliament attack case convict) has proved that UPA government indirectly supports terrorists. Strong warning should be sent to terrorists by taking quick action against those who were responsible for death of public and threatening the security of the country,” he added.
Mr Gowda said the BJP has already expressed its full support to the UPA government in dealing with eliminating terrorist activities in the country. “But the Centre is yet to act and its slowness in taking action is proof of today’s blast on the premises of the High Court in Delhi.”
