Mangalore : The Karnataka Dalita Sangarsha Samithi staged a protest in front of DC Office accusing the high caste people for holding dreadful rituals such as Made Snana for low caste even to present day on Dec 8, Thursday.

Addressing the protestors, District Convener Chandu L urged the state government to stop the age-old ritual in which the devotees will roll over the banana leaf plates discarded by Brahmins after their meals.

Apart from opposing the mada snana ritual, he demanded the state government to take legal action against those who assaulted backward classes leader K. S. Shivaramu.

Sanjeeva R., the district organizing secretary said that priestly class is been responsible for the conversion of millions of Indians into Islam, Christianity, and other religions.

They the protestors demanded Dr. V. S. Acharya, the higher education minister, to resign from his post for his irresponsible statements regarding Made Snana and asked him to perform the ritual.

Committee leaders Sheshappa, Vishu Kumar and others were also present.
