Bangalore :  Former Mangalore Police Commissioner and Senior IPS Officer Seemanth Kumar Singh has been appointed the  Commander of the Anti Naxal Force by the Karnataka Government.

Seemanth is also the former SP of Dakshina Kannada district. While he was the Commissioner, the Government had transferred him following the homestay attack case. He was then the DIG (Civil Rights Enforcement).

The post of ANF Commander had been vacant since some time and the appointment  has been made in the backdrop of rise in Naxal activities in Bihar and Chattisgarh.
