Mangalore: The Karnataka Janatha Party (KJP) launched by former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa made its presence felt in the district by opening its office at Mahendra Arcade in Mangalore on December 17 in the presence of several leaders who have joined the party.
Addressing the meeting, Jagadish Hiremani, KJP State Committee Member, said several have joined the KJP after they have realized that the BJP did not support its sincere workers. He also pointed out how former chief minister Yeddyurappa who had built the party with stupendous efforts for almost four decades has been insulted by the party leaders.
He said the KJP would put in great deal of efforts to strengthen its base in the district. He said the party would be holding a district level convention in Mangalore on December 29 and added nearly 2000 party men are expected to attend the convention. He also said the former chief minister has been working for the welfare of the minority community.
Several KJP leaders including Ramachandra Baikampady, Aboobakker Kairangala, Mariamma Thomas, Naryana Bhat attended the function.
