Bangalore : Rich tributes were paid to soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1971 Indo-Pak war after which Bangladesh was liberated by the Indian armed forces from the clutches of Pakistan.
On the occasion, a wreath laying ceremony was held at the War Memorial of Headquarters Training Command, IAF, in the city today.
Air Marshal Rajinder Singh, Senior Air Staff Officer, Headquarters Training Command led the wreath laying ceremony.
Followed by Major General AK Pradhan, General Officer Commanding of Karnataka and Kerala Sub Area, Commander Rajiv Girotra, Station Commander of Indian Navy, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) MJ Vittal, Major General (Retd) MK Paul, Vice Admiral (Retd) PJ Jacob and other serving and retired Officers placed the wreaths.
As the bugles sounded the last post, two minutes silence was observed.
The ceremony is in honour of the martyrs’ who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting the enemy during the Indo-Pak war in 1971.
