Ujire: Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala Sri Kshetra was conferred the honor and title of “Karnataka Ratna” recently in Bangalore.
On May 19th, the Heggade couple was collectively felicitated by people and Ujire residents of Sri Janardhana Temple of Ujire alo by tradesmen locally.
Temple administrator V R Oadvennaya offered garlands and mementoes to the beaming couple. On behalf of Sri Rama Mandir, Chandrakant Kamat and other citizens honoured Dr. Heggade and his wife.
Replying to the general felicitations, Dr. Heggade humbly stated that he hoped he made proper beneficial use of several opportunities that came his way in public service, but reminded the centre of many of his activities.
The Ujire centre had widened considerably, giving new opportunities for voluntary social welfare work. The local citizens, so to say, have given me this title. May you co-operate in these educational ventures in future too, he added. He hoped that all will utilise the various opportunities provided by God himself. Ms. Hemavathi Heggade and Baby Manya were present on the occasion. Several local leaders were present in large numbers at the venue. Rajesh Pai welcomed. An annual Rangapooja was conducted, for Sri Janardhana Swami (deity) on behalf of SDM Educational institutions on Thursday.
