Mangalore : 2013 May 5th election become a record of sort in the history of Karnataka assembly elections held since 1957. It recorded highest voters turn out of 72.3% beating 1978 election record of 71.9%.

It is the most orderly and peaceful elections ever held in Karnataka. It was totally peaceful barring few minor incident. The entire credit goes to election commission of India and the people of Karnataka. EC has shown its capability of conducting largest voting exercise any were in the world.
According to the exit poll of CNN – IBN the Congress party will fetch between 110-116 seats, BJP 43-53, JD(S) 43-53 others 16-24. C- voters shows Congress 112, BJP 47, JDS 39 and others 25. Chanakya estimates 121 -143 to Congress, 31-45 to BJP, 31-45 JDS and 8-22 others.
All indication shows that anti incumbent factor played important roll in the recent voting trends and the exact figure will be known only on May 8th.
