Mangaluru: Mangaluru city police cracked murder mystery of Karthik Raj and arrested his sister Kavyashree, other two accused Preetham and Gautham in connection with the case, said police commissioner Chandra Sekhar speaking to the press reporters here on Saturday. A police team led by City Crime Branch ACP Valentine D’Souza cracked the case after 6 month long investigation.

The main accused in the case Kavyashree is the younger sister of deceased Karthik Raj and she had developed hatred towards her elder brother owning to several issues, the commissioner said. Following her hostility, she asked Gautham to murder her brother, Karthik Raj and to obtain Rs 5 lakh for the extreme act.

According to the plan sketched, Gautam with his brother Preetham attacked the deceased using an iron rod on October 22, 2016 in Mangaluru. Following severe injuries, Karthik Raj was died on the next day of October 22. In the initial stage of the investigation, police remained clueless, however later succeeded to trace and nab the accused.
