Kasaragod: In an tragic incident a son killed his father by beating him with an iron rod took place at Palli Kere in Kasaragod.

Appukunji, a Pallikkara native, died after allegedly facing an assault from his son, Pramod. Police taken him into custody.

According to police, the father-son duo was in a family dispute for some time. On Monday April 1, Pramod attacked his father using an iron rod, resulting in Appukunji suffering serious injuries to his head.

Appukunji received medical treatment after the incident and was discharged with around 15 stitches on his head. Meanwhile, police registered a case against Pramod. However, he went into hiding.

On Monday evening, he returned home and killed Appukunji. The body is kept at the district hospital in Kanhangad.
