Mangalore : Kasargod Chinna, noted theatrical personality and President of the Konkani Sahitya Academy and Suryaprakash Bhat, Secretary of the Mobility Training Centre for The Blind, Mangalore have been chosen for the State level Vandana award given by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central jointly with Rotaract Club of Mangalore City as a part of their vocational service projects.
If Chinna was chosen for his contributions to the field of art, literature and culture, Bhat is selected for his services to the visually impaired.
The Awards will be presented at the Rotary Bal Bhavan Mangalore on May 17 at 8 pm.
Dr M Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s Education Foundation, Assistant Governor Rtn. Sadashiv Shetty and Dist Rotaract Representative Rtr. Shailendra Rao will be the guests of honour. Dr Sureschandra Shetty, President of the Club, will preside over the function. District Governor and Chairman of Awards Committee Dr B Devdas Rai will deliver the felicitation address.
Anil Gonsalves, Secretary of Rotary Club of Mangalore Central, Vikram Cutinha, President of Rotaract Club of Mangalore City and Prasad, Secretary will be present on the occasion among others.
