Mangalore : A man from Nayanmar in Kasargod who arrived by a Dubai flight at the Mangalore International Airport has been arrested on the charges of trying to smuggle gold.

DRI officials at the airport found that the man Mohammad Aslam had concealed five gold biscuits weighing 580 grams  inside a LED TV he was carrying. The value of the gold is estimated at Rs 14 lakhs.

The smuggling was detected following a tip off and  there were two additional condensers in the TV which hid the gold biscuits.
