Manipal : Kasargod MP Karunakeran has visited Udupi and Manipal on June 27, Thursday to know about the health of the medical student of Kerala origin who was gang raped by three assailants recently. The MP visited the KMC Hospital where the girl is undergoing treatment and met the Hospital Medical Superintendent.

He also met the Udupi DC Dr MT Reju and requested for measures to ensure protection to students. He said there was not even a single female security personnel on Manipal University campus and urged the police department to provide security to students.

The MP also met Western Range IGP Pratap Reddy and spoke on the investigations undertaken in the case. The DK and Udupi SPs Abhishek Goyal and  Dr Boralingaiah were also present.
