Kasargod : One CP Abdul Latif alias Charal Latif of Chattanchal, a notorious thief who had escaped from the hands of the police while being taken to prison after being produced before Kasargod court on May 27, Monday, has been arrested by the Kasargod police at Kuttikol on May 29.

The man, a notorious thief was lodged in Kannur Central Jail and was brought to  Kasargod court for hearing in a case. While returning, he escaped near the Vidyanagar bus stand. A bid to trap him was futile.

Meanwhile,  he had fled to a forest area at Cherkala and from there had reached Kanattur in the morning by an auto. After purchasing slippers, he had returned to the forests. When he realized that the cops were on a search mission, he fled the forests and boarded an auto  towards Kuttikol when he was arrested.

He was produced before the court and sent to Kannur prison.
