Kasargod police seizes 50 kg ganja; arrests one, another absconding

Kasaragod Ganja Kasargod : A person was arrested by Kasargod police and seized 50 kg of ganja which was being transported in a Swift car at Kunil at Mogral Puttur on April 30, Wednesday. Another accused is said to be absconding.

The arrested accused has been identified as Joseph (25), a resident of Idukki and said to be aide of Rojas from Kozhikode, who is said to be absconding.

It is said that the police who had received the information of ganja being supplied, had stopped the swift car driven by Joy and Rojas, near Shiriya bridge the highway, moving towards Kasargod. But when they failed to stop, the police had to chase them and also informed Kasargod police to chase them.

In order to escape from the Kasargod police, the duo turned their car back and tried to escape and hit against the boulder near Kunil. Police immediately arrested Joy, while Rojas managed to flee. They also seized ganja packed in plastic bags and the cash of Rs 10,000 from the car.

Kasargod station sub inspector T Uttamdas, Sunil Abraham, K Srijith, K Jyotish, Mahendran and Kamalakshan participated in the operation under the guidance of narcotics cell DySP Suresh Babu.
