Kasargod: What happened to be a Double Murder case in 1998 of 2 persons, P S Bifathima (58) and her young maid Selvi (16), who were killed by a gang of 9 criminals including 3 woman among them, all from Bangalore, the verdict has now been past after 15 years 2013 by a judge in Kasargod sessions court.
The main accused Dodda Hanuma (45) was awarded a life imprisonment (RI).
Second to forth accuse as culprits in the crime were given each 10 years of Rigorous imprisonment (RI).
5th accused and wife of the first accused Lakshmi (45) was given 7 years imprisonment for abetting her husband in killing the 2 woman in 1998.
6th to 9th accused in this case got the benefit of doubt as their guilt were not established and were acquitted of all charges made against them.
The murders took place in Thalangara of Kannur District in 1998. It appears that these criminal gangs of 9 members were involved in 84 other crimes, including 44 murders, in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka from 1996 to 2001.
