Kasargod: All India strike called by Centre for Indian Trade Unions has been successfully carried out at kasargod district, on Friday.
Most of the commercial establishments, government schools and colleges, offices, hotels and other sectors were closed for the day. Strike affected the normal life of the people.
Uppala, kaikamba, nayabazar, Bandyodu, Kumbale, Manjeshwara, Hosangadi, Perla, Badiyadka, Seethangoli, Mulleria and other such town areas’ routine was paralyzed due to the strike. There was no much response from any rural areas.
Some Mangaluru colleges announced holiday at the last moment and the students spent their joyful holiday.
Railway service was uninterrupted. There was not much rush as usual. National Highway was seen clear without any major traffic. Only the bikes and personal vehicles were seen on NH.
Police personnel were deputed in all the places to avoid any sort of problem.
Some of the unions forcefully shut down the commercial complexes earlier on Friday.
