Mangalore : The Kanara chamber of Commerce and Industry organised a function on June 15, Saturday to honour Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister B Ramanatha Rai, health minister U T Khader, fisheries minister Abhayachandra Jain, and MLAs J R Lobo and Moideen Bava.
On this occasion, Rai released a document titled ‘IT Vision – 2020’ compiled by the people of Mangalore working in the IT sector.
KCCI President Mohammed Ameen submitted a memorandum highlighting several demands of the KCCI including a high speed rail link between Konaje and Manipal, upgradation of Mangalore railway station and development of government hospitals of the region.
Addressing the gathering later, Rai said that the land acquisition process for the construction of four-lane project linking Mangalore-Bangalore had begun.
UT Khader who spoke on the occasion said Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for a mini fishing harbor at Ullal.
MLAs Moidin Bava and JR Lobo also spoke on the occasion.
