Mangalore : Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI)A organized a session on ‘Technology for Business Growth’ here on Wednesday July 23.
KCCI vice-president Nigam B Vasani said, a city-based IT company has come out with a comprehensive online solution to educate employees about anti-sexual harassment (ASH) policies and procedures.
He said that, said the product focuses on sexual harassment, employer’s responsibilities, consequences of harassment and retaliation. It also highlights contextual case study based examples, redressal mechanism such as organisational policy and how to handle complaints and prevention.
Vineet Bhat a director of IT company explained the product and operating systems.
Further he said about flexible and affordable models for SMEs (small and medium enterprises). The SMEs can leverage these models to create the policy, constitute a complaints committee and educate their employees. This will ensure that the employees are educated and their organisations are compliant with the law.
Highlighting the importance of the programme, Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi, Chairman of the IT sub-committee of KCCI, said that KCCI came out with the idea of hosting a programme on ‘Technology for business growth’ to connect the IT companies and SMEs in the region.
Representatives from HostGator (a provider of server hosting) and Pro-Bulk (a provider of bulk SMS services and marketing SMS services) made presentations on the occasion.
Praveen Kumar Kalbavi, Chairman of IT Sub-Committee of Kanara Chamber also spoke at the session.
