Bangalore: Kannada Develop Authority Chairman Chandru, popular as “Mukhya Mantri” , today indicated that KDA could provide funds to overseas Universities like UK, USA, Austria (Vienna) and Germany and others for the propagation of Kannada overseas in Munich, Oxford and other varsities.
The Universities have expressed an interest in Kannada after it received a classical language status, being over 1,500 years in existence like Tamil.
State govt is ready to offer Rs.2 crores each to the overseas universities, he claimed.
KDA was already providing funds for Kannada studies to other Universities in India outside Karnataka, he added. KDA would bring out multi-lingual dictionaries with Kannada words for non-Kannadigas all over the globe, free of cost, he helped.
