Mangalore : Karnataka Dalit Sangarsh Samithi organized a protest rally on September 23, Friday, demanding the investigation and arrest the murderer of cab driver Govardhan.
The protest rally was held from Light House Hill Road to the DC’s office.
Addressing the protestors, Sathya Bhadhravathi, Convener of Samithi said that the police department has shown no interest in investigating the murderer of a Dalit community member.
Flaying District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, he said that he would shown more interest if a member of RSS or Bajrang Dal member was murdered.
He also warned that the association will stage intense statewide protests if the culprits are not arrested immediately.
He urged the state government to provide Rs. 10 lakh compensation to the family of the victim and a government job to one member of his family.
