New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday evening sacked Minister Sandeep Kumar from his cabinet with immediate effect over an objectionable CD. The CD contained a sex tape and similar images, Times Now has reported.
Sandeep Kumar was the Minister for Child Welfare and Social Justice in the AAP cabinet. Kejriwal announced his decision to sack Sandeep Kumar on Twitter.
Kejriwal’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia defended his government against his charge at a short news conference in which he refused to take any questions from reporters. “We received a CD with objectionable content. Within half an hour of receiving the CD, the minister was sacked,” he claimed.
“AAP will not tolerate any allegations of corruption or impropriety… AAP works with a zero tolerance policy. Not just ministers, we have 67 MLAs. We will not tolerate such behaviour from anyone in any position in the party,” he added.
Sandeep Kumar is the third minister Kejriwal has dropped since he was voted back to power in 2015.
Earlier, he had dropped Asim Ahmed Khan+ over allegations of corruption and Jitender Singh Tomar over allegations that he had submitted fake degree certificates.
